2010-12-07

The North Country Sports Brockville Novice House Angels had a very successful first tournament this past weekend in the Durham West House Tournament.

The North Country Sports Brockville Novice House Angels had a very successful first tournament this past weekend in the Durham West House Tournament.  The girls finished in third place in their pool, losing the first game Friday 4-2 against Kingston Thompson, and tying the second game Saturday morning against Whitby (with a little bit of jet lag). The third game, second of the day, against Leaside resulted in a 4-1 victory and setup a rematch against Whitby in the semi-finals (the third game of the day).  Even at 0 after 29 minutes the Angels put one in the back of the net and held on for the rest of the game to a 1-0 nail biter, and a birth to the final round to Play Kingston Rogan. It was a hard fought battle with lots of physical play throughout, resulting in a 6-2 loss, and a very entertaining game (Even a few body checks). The tournament was marked by excellent goaltending, stonewalled defensive play and break through forward lines, with well distributed play from all the Angels.

Goal scorers for the Angels throughout the tournament were Aislyn Blakely, Alexandra Dingman,  Molly Gallagher, Alexa Powers and, Jenna Garlough. Assists from Cassidy Clark, Julia Dillon, Maddie McCaffrey, Samantha Marshall and, Brittany Renaud.  A Strong defence was provided by Ashley the crusher Monds, Taylor Richards, Emma Baker and, Mackenzie O’Neil.

The North Country Sports Brockville Novice House looked great this weekend and hope to carry this forward through the season. A Big thanks to all of the amazing Brockville fans Great Job.
