Bursary

Lyndsay Biccum was a lifelong Angel. In her teen years, she was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, a life-threatening genetic disease that causes mucus to build up in the lungs and other organs. Lyndsay received a successful double lung transplant and was able to return to the game of hockey that she loved. Lyndsay worked in Ottawa in the health field, conducting house visits to patients. A few years after the transplant, her body started to reject her lungs. Unfortunately, her body developed major medical issues, and she lost her battle. Lyndsay was a fighter to the end and her memory will not be forgotten.
A $750 bursary has been donated in Lyndsay Biccum’s memory to be awarded to a Brockville Girls Hockey Association U18 player who will be attending post-secondary education in the 2025-2026 year. The following criteria will be considered for this bursary:
- Current player who has played at least two consistent seasons with BGHA
- Currently accepted to a post-secondary institute
- A letter of reference from current secondary school
- Balance of academics and sport
- Preference to applicants enrolled in the Health Field
